According to the latest data collected by Piper Jaffray, an investment company in the fall of its semi-annual US teenage survey, the popularity of the iPhone in adolescents is growing.

Of the young people surveyed, 78% had an iPhone, an increase of 2% from the 2017 spring survey earlier this year. 82% of adolescents say their next smartphone will be an iPhone, the highest level recorded in such surveys.

People's interest in the iPhone has increased dramatically, perhaps due to the 2017 iPhone series, including iPhone X with a borderless display and TrueDepth camera for face recognition. In addition, the survey showed that teenagers interested in Apple Watch is also rising, 17% of young people interviewed, they plan to buy Apple Watch in the next six months, and the spring of 2017 this ratio of 13%.

Piper Jaffray said the survey showed that Apple iPhone 8 series and iPhone X mobile phone demand is very "positive", in addition, consumers are more and more interested in Apple Watch.

It is worth mentioning that Apple's streaming media music service Apple Music also appeared in the survey. Data show that Apple Music and Spotify, YouTube and other competitors to get a market share, because young people are away from such as Pandora streaming media services. As more and more traditional platforms and Pandora continue to lose market share, spot-on-demand music services such as Spotify, YouTube and Apple music (30%, 20% and 17%) continue to gain market share among adolescents.

It is understood that Piper Jaffray's survey in the autumn of 2017 covered 6100 adolescents in 44 states in the United States, with an average age of 15.9 years.

In Piper Jaffray's spring survey, 76% of young people surveyed had an iPhone, compared with 69% of the same period last year. 81% of teenagers also said they plan to buy an iPhone as their next smartphone, compared with 75% in 2016.
