Ubuntu 17.10 Artful Aardvark enters the final frozen state will be released on October 19

"Up to now, artful has entered the Final Freeze phase and is ready to release Ubuntu 17.10. The current upload in the queue will be checked and accepted or rejected based on pre-frozen standards," Adam Conrad, Canonical software engineer, said in a mailing list announcement. "Of course, this means that developers will not be able to update any packages they maintain, except those that fix important errors that affect ISO images or installers. In the final freeze phase, patches for zero-day security vulnerabilities will also be accepted.

As you know, Ubuntu 17.10 is only available for 64-bit (amd64) architectures, while the rest of the version is still available for 32-bit ISO installation images. Ubuntu 17.10 (Artful Aardvark) final version and all official versions, including Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Xubuntu, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Kylin and Ubuntu Budgie, are listed on October 19. Ubuntu 17.10 will default built GNOME 3.26.1 desktop environment.
