In the United States Tennessee Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in a room, the next US fastest, most powerful supercomputer Summit is preparing to solve some of the most important scientific issues. The predecessor of this supercomputer is ORNL's current high-performance supercomputer Titan.

The supercomputer has been in existence for some time. The high performance calculations of these devices can make them ideal tools for running larger, more complex computational problems, such as scientific problems. "We will try to solve some big problems, and then we expect that this machine will be built and accepted at some point next summer," said Buddy Bland, director of the ORNL Leadership Computing Project. & rdquo;

Once completed, Summit will address issues such as testing and developing stronger, lighter manufacturing materials, using sound waves to simulate the interior of the earth, and other explorations of the universe. Bland said: For example, we will study the causes of supernova explosion. When the stars explode, they create all the elements we find in the universe. The ORNL team predicts that by 2019, Summit will be available for public research.

At present, the world's fastest and most powerful supercomputer in China. The latest supercomputer & quot; the god & middot; the lake of light & rdquo; operation speed reaches 93 petaflops (one thousand trillion times per second), the theoretical maximum speed of up to 125.4 petaflops. This value is about twice as much as "Tianhe 2" and "rdquo". On the other hand, Summit's theory of the highest speed may reach 200petaflops, which will be more than "deity & middot; Taihu Lake Light & rdquo ;.

In short, Summit will be the world's fastest supercomputer in 2018. But ORNL does not want to stop here. By 2021, they plan to develop the world's first megabyte computer, 50 times faster than the fastest supercomputer.
