According to data provided by market research firm IDC, Apple Watch was the most popular smartwatch in the world last quarter, but its market share declined this summer.

Although Apple Watch accounted for nearly half of smartwatch shipments in the second quarter with a market share of 49.6%, its market share in the third quarter was estimated at 41%. In other words, four of every 10 smartwatches were Apple watch last quarter.

Shipments of Apple watches were estimated at 2.7 million in July-September, down from 3.4 million in the previous quarter.

Apple Watch's shipments are likely to be affected by seasonal factors, as traditionally, summer is a period of slowing Apple sales. In addition, some users may have delayed the plan to buy Apple Watch because Apple introduced the Apple Watch Series 3 with cellular capabilities in September of this year.

Samsung shipped a shipment of 700,000 to runner-class after Apple Watch, down slightly from the previous quarter.

Garmin shipments of 600,000, unchanged from the previous quarter. Fossil and Continental Wireless, which make children's smart watches in China, rank fourth in shipments of 500,000 smartwatches. All other smart watch makers sold 1.7 million smartwatches this quarter.

The above data provided to foreign media by IDC is completely based on smart watches. The so-called smart watches are defined as watches that can be used to run third-party applications on the device. Other sports wristbands and other products are not included in the statistics.

Because there are many low-cost health tracking devices in the broader wearables market, IDC estimates that Apple Watch had a market share of around 10.3% last quarter, based on the entire wearable device market. Fitbit and Chinese supplier Xiaomi had a market share of 13.7% and 1% in the previous quarter respectively.

Apple did not like iphone, ipad and mac as separate sales of Apple Watch sales. Instead, the company placed the wearable on the "Other Products" category with Apple TV, AirPods, Beats, iPods and other accessories.

At a conference call earlier this month, chief executive Tim Cook disclosed that Apple's watch sales were up 50% from a year earlier. Apple reported that its "other product" category revenue was 3.2 billion US dollars, an increase of 36%. Next, Apple Watch will grow by more than 50% for three consecutive quarters and continue to be the best-selling and most popular smartwatch in the world.

"We started introducing the new Apple Watch Series 3 series six weeks ago, and our customers love the new cellular capabilities. Now you can just run your Apple Watch or run quickly without a phone Other network operations are extremely handy and this will change the rules of the game for smartwatches.Nowadays Apple Watch is more than ever the ultimate device for healthy living and it has dramatically changed the lives of our customers. " Apple today announced that Apple Watch users in the United States can participate in a cardiac study designed to identify arrhythmias.
