Released last year, Ubuntu 17.04 is also the last Ubuntu Linux distribution to come preinstalled with the Unity 7 desktop environment.

It uses the Linux 4.10 kernel, Mesa 17.0 graphics stack, and X.Org Server 1.19 display service. However, just over nine months, it ushered in EoL.

Steve Langasek, Ubuntu Foundation Engineering Director, said:

The Ubuntu Security Bulletin will no longer contain any information or package updates related to Ubuntu 17.04 and the recommended upgrade path is to migrate to Ubuntu 17.10 as soon as possible.
