Nepalese Telecom did not reveal the actual bandwidth of China's broadband Internet that Nepal will have access to. The spokesman said the relevant details will be disclosed to the public after the official launch.

In December 2016, Nepalese Telecom reached an agreement with China Telecom to obtain a broadband Internet connection. From the first week of September last year, Nepal Telecom started the project transmission test.

Bajyaar said that with the rapid growth of Internet usage in Nepal, China's broadband Internet is seen by Nepal as another source that meets the country's growing demand for broadband. The commercial operation of China's broadband project will also end Nepal's history of totally relying on India's access to broadband Internet. At present, Nepal connects to the global Internet via optical fiber access points of Indian telecom operators such as Barat Denagar, Whitehoeva and Birgenje.

In addition to ending the monopoly of broadband supply, China's Internet access will further push Nigeria Internet service providers to establish broadband connections with other countries through China. Although Nepali Telecom will only purchase limited bandwidth Internet services from China during the initial phase, it will gradually increase access to Internet bandwidth from China in the future.
