Tencent science and technology news, according to foreign media reports, millet plans to expand its store network in India, taking the first position in the market. In the India smartphone market, Samsung has ruled for more than five years.
Xiaomi landed in India more than three years ago.
In May, millet opened the first millet home in India, and the total number of stores has increased to 17.
Jain said that millet is expected to complete the plan of opening 100 millet homes in mid 2019, and the company also plans to increase more preferred partner shops, which are mainly multi brand stores based on Millet products.
In India, smartphone users account for about 1/3 of the total number of mobile phones. In order to expand the user base, millet hopes to strengthen the sales network outside the online store. At present, online sales account for about 70% of the total revenue of millet in India.
Millet's sales strategy in India is now mainly on the local leading e-commerce sites, such as Flipkart and Amazon. This method helps millet save expensive marketing costs and quickly seize market share.
Jain said millet will launch six to eight smartphones in India in 2018, covering different price ranges.
Last year, millet launched eight smartphones in India, ranging from 4999 rupees ($78) to 32999 rupees ($516). In contrast, Samsung provided more than 40 smartphones in India last year.
Millet is also planning to launch one or two new smart devices in India this year. Jain said that Xiaomi has sold air purifiers and body-building bracelets in India, and is likely to launch televisions, water purifiers, scooters and rice cookers in the future.
Last October, Xiaomi worked with Future Group's supermarket chain Big Bazaar Big Bazaar to sell red rice 4 and red rice Note 4 mobile phones during the festival season in India.
Jain announced the cooperation through social media, and he said the cooperation would start in the mobile phone company.

Jain said the collaboration with Big Bazaar covered 240 stores, but he did not reveal whether the cooperation would continue when the holiday season ended.
Jain has said that millet hopes to copy the model in China in India and become a Internet Co through a series of services. But he said that the short-term goal of millet is still a leading position in the mobile phone market.
He said that the Internet Co model in Millet took seven years to form in China, and it would take years in India to blossom and fruit. At present, millet is only three years to be landed in India.
The revenue of millet in India has reached $1 billion, and it will be expected to double in 2017. Before bringing Internet services to India, the company will consider three key factors, namely, market maturity, the life cycle of a company in a region, and its team capabilities.
But in the short term, the number of millet shipments in India, the second largest, will focus on the rivals' market share. The series of mobile phones with millet and red rice are of high quality and high specifications, but they are priced at only half the market price.
Xiaomi district is headquartered in Bangalore, India. Since 2017, its sales volume has exceeded 4 million units per quarter, and now it is concerned about Samsung, apple and one plus high-end market. The high-end smartphone market in India has become as competitive as the lower end and below 10000 rupees.
At present, the offline sales contributed to the sales of millet India 20%, the rest from the line including millet official network.
