Tencent technology news, February 13 According to foreign media reports, smart phones and PC now, are vulnerable to cryptocurrency-related attacks, and some even make people feel "dumbfounding".

Malwarebytes, a secure Web site, recently discovered a free "Android" mobile phone that would take millions of Android users to a Web site and hijack their mobile handsets to tap a device called Monero Virtual currency.

Although it is unclear how specific hijacking will be, researchers say it is likely that users will be directed to a dedicated page through an application with malicious ads.

The number of specific hijacked users has not yet been determined, but it is basically okay to reach the order of one million Android users.

Malwarebytes used the same captcha code and Coinhive website key to identify five domains, of which at least two had more than 30 million monthly visits and a combined 800,000 daily visits.

Although most visits stay on the page for a short period of time (an average of only 4 minutes), they also have a fair amount of mining effort given the large number of users.

Malwarebytes advises Android smartphone users to use network filters and security software to combat these hijackings. And it's still commonplace advice that users have to download apps from the Google Play Store to keep them safe, after all, the official Google Certified apps are reviewed in advance.

And this kind of hijacking of users' smartphones as "free miner's machines" will always exist. As long as cryptocurrencies are valuable, there will be people who use it as a means of illegal profit-making.
