Similar to many companies' practices, Intel launched the vulnerability reporting reward plan in March 2017, aiming to encourage security researchers to cooperate with them, discover and report potential vulnerabilities. Intel indicates that this aspect helps Intel enhance product security and contribute to the implementation of a responsible and coordinated information disclosure process.
To further avoid product vulnerabilities,In February 14th, Intel announced an update of the vulnerability report reward program, including:
1. The plan, in the past, covers only invited persons and will be open to all security researchers in the future, thus significantly expanding the scope of qualified researchers.
2, launch a new plan specifically for the side channel vulnerability, and its effective duration will continue until December 31, 2018. Under this plan, the report to Intel will get a bounty of 250 thousand dollars.
3, an overall increase in the amount of rewards can be achieved, and a reward of $100 thousand can be obtained at the highest level in other fields.
Intel says it will continue to push the plan on demand, to make it best, and to help us carry out the pledge to pledge security first. At this point, we would like to express our sincere thanks to all the insiders who have chosen to participate in the project.
