Samsung acquires Kngine, an AI search engine company, to boost Bixby performance

The acquisition is in line with Samsung's efforts to develop artificial intelligence mobile solutions, including improving its smart voice assistant Bixby. Samsung bought Viv Labs, the American company for artificial intelligence, for 238.9 billion won ($ 222.1 million) in 2016 and hired Larry Heck last year at Google Assistant and Microsoft Small Na "(Cortana) played an important role in the development process.

Last year, Samsung introduced Bixby first in the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. It is the result of a combination of Samsung's Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and UI Design. In addition to Samsung's own products, the future Bixby will be unveiled in the other company's equipment.

Bixby will be open to third-party developers, which means developers can integrate new features for their ability to effectively interact with other devices. Samsung will further enhance Bixby's performance with Kngine's mobile solution based on Artificial Intelligence, such as Deep Learning.
