China Unicom stated that it will speed up the introduction of new technologies and promote the upgrading of network intelligence. In 2018, the 5G scale test will be carried out, and it will be commercialized in 2019 and commercialized in 2020.
Prior to this, China Unicom had submitted an application to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and plans to conduct 5G tests in 7 cities including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Nanjing and Xiong'an.
At the end of January this year, Zhang Feng, chief engineer of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, stated that China's 5G R&D trials have entered the third phase and will promote the basic commercialization of 5G system equipment.
It is reported that 2018 is a key year for the determination of 5G standards and R&D of commercial products. It will rely on the third phase of 5G technology research and development experiments, focusing on "standards, R&D and testing" and three tasks simultaneously.
