Intel is going to sell Wind River, the software department under its flag

Tencent technology news, according to foreign media reports, Intel said it is ready to sell its Wind River Systems software department to the financial giant TPG, the transaction price has not yet been announced. The chip maker bought Wind River Systems for $884 million in 2009.

Wind River is responsible for developing embedded operating systems as well as aircraft and industrial robot software.

Last year, Intel also sold half of its McAfee antivirus service to TPG. In the deal, the McAfee antivirus department was valued at $4 billion 200 million.

The agreement to sell Wind River will be delivered in the second quarter of 2018. After the sale, Wind River will continue to be led by the president Jim - Douglas (Jim Douglas) and the existing management team.

Over the past 40 years, the real-time operation system built by Wind River has constituted the cornerstone of some important infrastructures, including manufacturing plants, medical devices, aircraft, railways, automobiles and communication networks.

Wind River's products and solutions enable engineers, developers, producers and system integrators to build intelligent networking devices, sensors, gateways and networks.
