QQ ceases to provide services to European users

The Tencent's QQ has issued a notice to international users, announcing that it has stopped serving European users since May 20th. Tencent's move is likely to be with Europe's forthcoming May 25th data protection and privacy regulationGeneral Data Protection Regulation(GDPR) related, GDPR aims to give European citizens more control over personal data, and violators will face a fine of 4% of the highest global income.

There is only one word in the Tencent statement that the real reason for stopping the service is not clear at the moment. Another mobile message from QQ and Tencent, WeChat, is mainly used by Chinese or Chinese users.
