Ubuntu 18.04 LTS Adds New Welcome Interface--Easy-to-use Quick Start System

via:cnBeta.COM     time:2018/4/24 9:01:27     readed:984

There are many flavor versions of the Ubuntu ecosystem that have a welcome interface, such as Ubuntu MATE and Ubuntu Budgie. There are also many Ubuntu-based GNU/Linux distributions that provide quick and easy setup guidelines for consumer settings after the system is installed.

The Ubuntu original system has never used the welcome interface before, but it will have changed since the Ubuntu 18.04 LTS version. The introduction of a welcome interface can help new or old users better understand the newly designed GNOME user interface and set up services such as Canonical LivePatch.

If you have used the GNOME desktop environment before, you may be familiar with this interface. However, the biggest difference between Ubuntu and the previous GNOME environment is that the Launcher is located on the left side of the screen and supports the Ubuntu Dock branch of the GNOME Shell interface.

Click "Next" on the welcome screen to set up Canonical LivePatch to deploy kernel updates without rebooting. To set up a LivePatch service, the user needs to have an Ubuntu SSO account.
