In the previous preview update, the Sets was mainly focused on the tagging function, and some other small functions were introduced. The version update introduced today mainly promotes mobile broadband.
The complete update log is as follows:
Mobile Bandwidth (LTE) connectivity in Windows systems is improved:
Twenty years later, Windows is changing the networking stack through the Net Adapter framework. This framework introduces a new, more reliable, network-driven model that also accelerates the data path while integrating the advantages of the Windows-driven framework.
Since this version, we have introduced the new Mobile Broadband (MBB) USB-level driver based on the Net Adapter framework. We hope you will try our new driver in the latest preview version of RS5.
If your PC device supports mobile broadband, for example if your PC is connected via a cellular network connection, you can follow the steps below.
Step 1: Make sure your PC supports SIM card and USB network card (or cellular connection via internal USB bus, USB dongle)
Step 2: Install Build 17655 or later and set up a cellular network connection
Step 3: Select the NetBridge USB-based MBB USB Level Driver as the default driver
● Navigate to the device manager (Right-click the start button to access). Then open the network adapter and select Generic Mobile Broadband Adapter or xxxxx Mobile Broadband Adapter
● Right-click Properties, select Update Driver -> Browse My Computer for Drivers -> Select Generic Mobile Broadband Cx Net Adapter -> Click Next
● Once the new driver is installed, restart the device to take effect
● Ensure that the connection status remains "connected"
Step 4: Close the WiFi network and try the next cellular network connection
