Carnegie Mellon University Opens Artificial Intelligence Program

The University’s Dean of Computer Science, Andrew Moore, said in a statement on Thursday: “Artificial intelligence experts have never been so short-lived or needed by employers”. This is the country’s first AI undergraduate degree program. The University stated that it will recruit 30 to 35 students each year.

But Carnegie Mellon hopes that artificial intelligence can help solve ethical and social responsibility problems. The university stated that “this will include the use of AI for independent learning opportunities in social welfare, such as improving transportation, healthcare or education, etc.”
