Last December, it was reported that the Ministry of Commerce of China has begun to assess Toshiba's sale of chips, and assessment officials expressed concern about the role of SK helix in the deal. If the transaction is approved, SK Hynix will have a large stake in the Toshiba chip business after sale.

According to the contract, SK Hynix will finance the transaction through the form of convertible creditor's rights. In the future, SK Hynix will get up to 15% of Toshiba chip business voting rights. At present, SK Hynix is the second largest memory chip manufacturer in Korea.

The censorship of Chinese regulators is the last pass for Toshiba's sale of chips, and now, with the approval of the Chinese government, Toshiba now expects the deal to be completed in June 1st this year.

Some analysts say that the possibility of Qualcomm's acquisition of NXP semiconductor trading has also been enhanced since the approval of the Toshiba transaction was approved by China's regulatory authorities. So far, Qualcomm has been approved by 8 regulatory authorities for approval from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. (Li Ming)
