In May 30th, according to foreign media reports, Russian search giant Yandex has just launched a home voice assistant intelligent speaker, hoping to compete directly with companies such as Amazon Echo and Google Google Home.
The smart speaker launched by the company is called Station, priced at 160 US dollars, and is equipped with the Alice Russian intelligence assistant released by Yandex in October last year.
Yandex says Station is the first intelligent sound box designed for the Russian market, and it is also the first intelligent sound box to integrate full streaming video experience.
It is reported that the smart sound box supports HDMI output, and users can ask Station to play multiple sources of video, film and TV programs through the Alice voice assistant.
While introducing Station smart speakers, Yandex has also launched a monthly 169 ruble (about $2.75) Yandex.Plus online service for Russian users, which allows users to access music and streaming video, and also offers car discounts and free distribution services on part of online e-commerce sites. It's a bit similar to Amazon's Prime.
Yandex said Station smart speakers and subscription services will take the lead in the Russian market this summer.
