Huawei plans to invest 520 million yuan to build a digital ecosystem in Southeast Asia

On June 7, according to foreign media reports, in order to build a digital ecosystem in Southeast Asia, Huawei announced an investment of 81 million U.S. dollars (about 520 million U.S. dollars) in the fourth "Huawei Asia Pacific Innovation Day."

In the next three years, Huawei will invest funds to establish open labs, support cloud developers, and train information and communication technology (ICT) talents in Southeast Asian countries.

James Wu, president of Huawei's Southeast Asia region, announced the region’s “Developer Support Program” and stated that the plan aims to support the growth of the digital economy and build an ecosystem in the region.

When talking about the project, Bangladeshi Minister of Posts and Telecommunications Mustafa Jabbar said that the government has plans to develop its own ICT industry and is currently considering launching 5G Internet by 2021. Internet service.

In his keynote speech, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak drew a closer look at Thailand's "digital" strategy and described how the strategy promotes Thailand's economic transformation and modernization.

He reiterated that the Thai government is committed to creating an enabling environment for digital innovation, and stressed that Huawei is an important contributor to the development of Thailand's ICT industry. In addition, he also stressed that Thailand and Huawei need in-depth cooperation.

Huawei's rotating chairman Guo Ping emphasized the importance of the digital ecosystem in his speech.
