Earlier this year, Samsung announced plans to launch a smart speaker using the Bixby voice assistant in the second half of the year. However, apart from confirming the existence of the device, the company has not disclosed any information about the speaker. According to information previously obtained, the Bixby speaker was developed internally under the code name "Lux", and today Samsung's patents from LetsGoDigital shared the possible design of this speaker.
The patent was submitted in November last year and was also published in WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) a few weeks ago. From the patent map, it can be seen that this speaker adopts a small robot design and the head can be rotated to receive the commands sent by the user. The top of the device will be equipped with a camera for face recognition, at least 7 microphone arrays, and a touch display.
In addition, the speaker also supports LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, and has USB and HDMI ports. Will have mainstream Internet speaker functions, including multimedia playback, sending and receiving data from smart home devices, making calls, controlling IoT devices, and more.
