RHEL 6.10 marks the transition from the first lifecycle stage to the second phase of "Maintenance Support (maintenance support)". In order to provide a stable environment for customers in the remaining RHEL 6 life cycle, only important safety repairs and emergency problems affecting the business are resolved. For example, the retpoline based mitigation measures for Spectre/Meltdown, the updated version of the GCC compiler, and the gcc-libraries package of the refactoring (rebase) are added.
This version also contains the RHEL 6.10 basic image to help enterprises migrate RHEL 6 workloads (workloads) to container based applications more easily. These Cloud-Naitve workloads can be deployed and maintained in more modern platforms, such as RHEL 7, RHEL Atomic Host, and Red Hat OpenShift container platforms.
In order to facilitate the customer to plan its migration to RHEL 7, RHEL 6.10 also brings the pre upgraded assistant (Pre-upgrade Assistant), Red Hat Upgrade Tool (red hat upgrade tool), and the accompanying software documentsTo update.
