According to statistics, as of the end of 2017, the number of Chinese netizens reached 772 million, with a penetration rate of 55.8%, compared with 40.74 million new netizens in 2016. The average weekly online time is 27 hours. Among them, China's mobile Internet users increased by 57.34 million, with a scale of 753 million.

At the same time, webcasting users continue to increase. According to the report, the number of online webcast users in China reached 298 million in 2017, and the number of users is expected to exceed 500 million in 2019. However, the growth rate of users in the live broadcast industry slowed down significantly last year, with a growth rate of 28.4%. It is expected that the growth rate will further slow down to 10.2% by 2019.

The report also mentioned that as of the end of last year, there were more than 200 companies in China that launched or engaged in live webcasting, a decrease of nearly 100 compared with 2016, and a decrease of 400 compared with 2011. According to the report analysis, since the media industry traffic dividend period is coming to an end, development has ushered in an inflection point. In 2017, among the major self-media platforms, WeChat public account ranked first with 63.4% market share.

According to the report, mobile social software has become an indispensable tool for Internet users. Nearly half of the users use mobile social applications more than three times a day, and more than 80% of users use mobile social applications for more than one hour each day.

The top three social applications with the highest user usage rate are WeChat friends, QQ space and Sina Weibo, with usage rates of 87.3%, 64.4% and 40.9% respectively.

In the longer term, the average daily usage time of China Mobile's social APP increased from 409,000 minutes in June 2016 to 492,000 minutes in May 2017. During the period, there was an increase or decrease, and the overall situation showed a spiral upward trend.

In terms of online shopping, the transaction volume of China's online shopping market reached 7.18 trillion yuan last year, an increase of 32.2% year-on-year. The market growth rate once again ushered in a further turning point.

As for online payment, as of the end of last year, the number of online payment users in China reached 531 million, an increase of 56.61 million compared with the end of 2016, with an annual growth rate of 11.9%. Among them, the number of mobile payment users has grown rapidly, reaching 527 million people, an increase of 57.83 million compared with the end of 2016, with an annual growth rate of 12.3%.

Net car users increased by nearly 20%

In terms of network travel, the report shows that as of the end of 2017, including the network taxis and special express trains, the total number of car users in China's network reached 435 million, with a growth rate of 19.2%, which remained basically stable.

Specifically, the number of taxi users in the network reached 287 million, an increase of 61.88 million compared with 2016, with a growth rate of 27.5%; the number of dedicated network users reached 236 million, an increase of 68.44 million compared with 2016, with a growth rate of 40.6%.

In the past two years, shared car services have been launched in many cities across the country and are increasingly favored by consumers. According to the report, the size of China's shared car market reached 790 million yuan in 2017, an increase of 83.7% year-on-year. It is expected that the market size will reach 2.15 billion yuan this year, which is much faster than 2017. The shared car market will usher in an accelerated market expansion period.

According to statistics, the number of Internet medical users in China reached 253 million last year, an annual increase of 29.7%, and the usage rate of Internet users was about 32.7%. The report predicts that China's Internet medical compound annual growth rate will reach 55.01% in the next few years, and China Mobile's medical market will reach 69.74 billion yuan in 2021.
