As 2018 is approaching, the Glory V Series is coming up to date. For this new machine and next year's new equipment, Glory announced three new technologies at a technical conference held on December 10, and announced the release time of Glory V series new machine Glory V20.
These three technologies are Link Turbo full-network aggregation technology, the third generation full-screen technology with "open screen" design, "glamorous full-view screen", and the upgrade of AI image processing algorithm after Kylin 980, which supports the "high-pixel mode" of 48 million pixels.
Link Turbo Full Network Aggregation Technology
Glory's Link Turbo technology is actually a model that integrates mobile networks and Wi-Fi.
They introduced a system-level corrupt connection protocol called MP-ATP, which allows mobile phones to switch to another mode of connection when the network in their environment fails to meet the functional requirements. In addition, Link Turbo also has "Intelligent Link Aggregation Mode", which allows Wi-Fi and mobile networks to send and receive data at the same time, further reducing network latency and achieving the goal of speed-up.
According to the official note, Link Turbo is a technology based on existing machines, which can be used through later system upgrades. The first machine to use Link Turbo was Magic 2, which was released earlier.
Glory says that MP-ATP can still play the same role when cellular networks upgrade to 5G in the future, and Link Turbo's advantage will be more obvious after integrating 5G mobile networks.
Indeed, according to Link Turbo, as long as Wi-Fi or mobile networks are enhanced, the effect of integration will be enhanced.
But in the face of 5G network, the average user is actually more concerned about the network fees. Link Turbo is more practical when the network quality is not good, but at present, the network quality of general home Wi-Fi and 4G mobile networks is enough. For users, what they are more concerned about is the cost.
Link Turbo's effectiveness will only be improved if people's use of the network needs change.
"Glamorous Eye Full Video Screen" to further enhance the proportion of screens
At present, most manufacturers are making more design attempts on the goal of "high screen proportion".
Including the lifting camera, front and rear double screen design, as well as the disappearance of many years of "sliding cover" design, these are the manufacturers in the pursuit of high screen proportion of the attempt. Glory Magic 2 is also a product to try on the slider.
Now there are also manufacturers that plan to open a hole in the screen, making a design called "open screen". Samsung A8, which is also released today, will be designed with an open screen. In the rumored Galaxy S10 series, there are also rumors of similar designs.
Glory "Glamour Full Video Screen" Display Machine
The glorious "Glamour Eye Full Video Screen" has a 4.5mm hole, which is a little smaller than the 6mm hole scheme. Of course, the UI display will also have a certain impact when the "Glamorous Eye Full Video Screen" uses the technology of off-screen camera.
In this regard, Glory will optimize the UI for different scenarios, and reduce the impact on use by adapting changes in different interface switching.
Larger sensors, higher pixels
Glory mentioned at the launch that the Glory V20 will carry Sony's IMX586 sensor.
IMX586 has a native maximum of 48 million pixels and a size of 1/2 inch. On the hardware side, this is also a breakthrough in the pictures and pixels taken on mobile phones.
In addition, Glory said that they will also optimize the image algorithm for the sensor, cooperate with the image processing performance of Kirin 980, and further improve the ability of mobile phone in the direction of image quality, high-sensitivity performance and detail processing.
For mobile phone groups, high-pixel sensors can really improve the texture of details and image resolution, but because mobile phone users do not really need to zoom in and large areas of printing, so the performance of high-pixel in this area is not very obvious.
The reason why mobile phone users want to use high pixels is more for enlargement.
There are more pixels, in order to have more margin to do image zooming, through another way to achieve high zoom function. If users want to shoot distant objects, they will get a clearer picture if they have high-pixel zoom-in base.
In addition, the IMX586 uses a Quad Bayer array, which can be exposed by four pixels in a dark environment and 12 million pixels in the output photos. Glory said that only three new technologies will be released in this technical conference, and these three technologies will also be put into Glory V20.
