More immersed feelings
Including the overall improvement of visual display system, HoloLens 2 has greatly enhanced immersion, making holographic images more vivid and lifelike. In HoloLens 2, Microsoft has more than doubled the field of view, while maintaining the industry's leading holographic density of 47 pixels per angle, with a single eye resolution of 2K.
HoloLens 2 includes a new display system that achieves significant performance improvements at low power consumption (the processor is Snapdragon 850). Microsoft has completely updated the way users interact with holograms. With the new TOF depth sensor, combined with built-in AI and semantic understanding, HoloLens 2 allows you to manipulate holograms directly using the same gestures you use when interacting with real-world objects.
In addition to the improvement of display engine and more intuitive operation hologram, HoloLens 2 also includes eye tracking sensors, which make the interaction between people and hologram more natural. You can login to Windows Hello Enterprise Authentication through iris recognition, so that multiple users can share devices quickly and safely.
More comfortable wearing experience
Holo Lens 2 enhances wear comfort through a more balanced centre of gravity, the use of lightweight carbon fibers, and a new mechanism for wearing equipment without readjustment. We have improved heat dissipation management through new thermal conductive plate technology and made Holo Lens 2 comfortable and adaptable to almost anyone by adapting the various sizes and shapes of people's heads. The new locking system makes users feel very comfortable even if they wear it continuously for hours.
When wearing HoloLens 2, users do not need to remove glasses, because HoloLens 2 can be adjusted by sliding over the glasses. When users need to quit the mixed reality scene, they just need to uncover the mirror upward to complete the switching task in a few seconds. These improvements have more than tripled the comfort and ergonomic form of the device.
Microsoft has also developed a number of enterprise-oriented hybrid reality applications for HoloLens 2, including Remote Assist, Layout and new Guides applications under Dynamics 365.
HoloLens 2, developed on the basis of the original unique functions of HoloLens, is an intelligent edge product with excellent performance. With the combination of existing and new Azure services, HoloLens 2 will become more powerful and ready-to-use.
Holo Lens 2 will be available this year at a price of $3,500. Packaging prices, including Dynamics 365 Remote Assist, start at $125 a month. Holo Lens 2 will be launched in the United States, Japan, China, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Australia and New Zealand.
