On March 15, according to the South China Morning Post, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, told German media that Huawei had developed its own operating system in case the US technology giant no longer authorized its existing system.

It is reported that Huawei has planned its own operating system since 2012, aiming to become a substitute for Google's Android system. Yu Chengdong said in an interview that we have prepared our own operating system, if we can not continue to use the existing system (referring to Android), we will be ready to start Plan B.

A spokesman for Huawei said that Huawei had its own operating system, but only when it had to. Frankly speaking, we don't want to use our own operating system. Huawei supports the operating system developed by our partners with both hands. Not only do we like them, but also our customers. Therefore, Android and Windows operating systems will always be our first choice.

It is worth noting that besides Android and iOS, there are still developers trying to break this pattern, such as Microsoft's Windows Phone (later renamed Windows 10 Mobile), Samsung's Tizen system and Nokia's Symbian system, but they have not succeeded at present.
