Google gets the first drone express license and will be online in the US during the year

According to the FAA, the drone express license certification is valid for two years. A pilot can operate up to five drones at a time and can only operate during the day. Drones cannot carry harmful substances or hover over people.

In January of this year, the FAA developed guidelines to allow drones to operate in densely populated areas and terminated the requirement for special licenses for night use. The FAA is also considering further development of other rules to address public safety and national security concerns to combine drones with aircraft traffic.

Google Wing partnered with Mid-Atlantic Airlines partners and Virginia Tech to participate in the US Department of Transportation's unmanned aircraft system integration pilot program.

Google Wing was founded in 2014. Received the FAA's drone test license in 2016. In Australia, Google Wing has completed 70,000 tests and delivered 3,000 packages. In 2018, the FAA organized various companies that developed drones to conduct UAS IPP (UAV Verification Test) programs. Google is currently the first official commercial license in the beta program.
