Google settles on Google Street View privacy and pays $13 million

NetEase Technology News July 20th news, according to foreign media reports, local time Friday, Google agreed to pay $13 million to settle the long-awaited Google Street View privacy case.

It is reported that there have been allegations that the vehicles used by Google Street View obtained data from private Wi-Fi networks, in violation of a US eavesdropping law.

The settlement agreement filed with the Federal Court of San Francisco required the money to be distributed to consumer privacy organizations and asked Google to destroy all collected data and to guide the public on how to establish an encrypted wireless network. (Chen Chen)
