The record contains each user's unique ID on Facebook and the number listed in the account numbecellphoneNumber. Facebook ID is a unique number associated with an account that can discover a person's username.

The data are older because Facebook has restricted access to mobile phone numbers for more than a year. A Facebook spokesman said the data were stolen before Facebook cut off access to mobile numbers and called the datasets "old."

Foreign media TechCrunch can verify multiple records in the database by matching the mobile phone number of a known Facebook user with a listed Facebook ID. Other records can be verified by matching the phone number with Facebook's password reset function. Although these records mainly contain mobile phone numbers, in some cases they also contain user names, gender and country locations.

The database was first discovered by security researcher Sanyam Jain, who said he could find several celebrity phone numbers. It's unclear who owns the database, or where it came from, but it got offline after TechCrunch contacted the site's host. It's unclear why the data was stolen from Facebook or what they were for.
