[TechWeb] Sept. 5, according to a recent report by IPR Daily, an intellectual property media, China accounts for nearly 70% of global block chain patent applications. The report lists the number of patents issued worldwide for block chains from January 1, 2019 to June 30, 2019.
China ranked first, accounting for 67% of patent applications. Alibaba ranked first with 322 patents, followed by Ping An, China, with 274 patents, and Nchain with 241 patents.
The United States ranks second in global block chain patent applications, accounting for 16% of patent applications, much lower than China.
According to the report, there were 200 financing activities related to block chains in the same period, with a capital of 16 billion yuan, of which 71 were in China.
