Microsoft joins AstraZeneca in launching Medical Artificial Intelligence Accelerator

Microsoft's quest in the healthcare industry has been choppy, and many consumer-facing efforts have failed, including Microsoft Health Dashboard, Microsoft Wearables and HealthVault's Personal Health Record System.

Although the HealthVault service was launched by Microsoft with prominent partners such as (American Heart Association), Johnson and Allscripts, the American Heart Association, HealthVault also encountered the same problems as rival Google Health at the time. On April 6, 2019, Microsoft sent an email to HealthVault users officially announcing that it would shut down the HealthVault service on Nov. 20.

In recent years, Microsoft has focused its attention on corporate customers, introduced new providers and health plan-focused products to enable clinicians to safely communicate and share information, assist patients in navigation and eliminate technical barriers to interoperability. In natural language processing and machine learning, Microsoft also hopes to work with hospitals to help clinicians diagnose and treat patients.

Over the past year, Microsoft has signed a number of major agreements, including a partnership with (Providence St. Joseph) at St. Joseph Hospital in Providence and Wa with Walgren Hospital (Walgren Hospital)LGReens) works together to help innovate medical services.

In addition, Microsoft is working with Oxford Biomedicine to improve gene therapy using cloud computing and machine learning.
