Softbank's U.S. company HAPS Mobile and Alphabet's Loon will jointly develop the project. The two departments are currently engaged in a dialogue on this cooperation. First, HAPS Mobile will invest about $89.4 million in Loon to become a minority shareholder in the latter. HAPS Mobile is currently developing an unmanned aerial vehicle powered by solar energy. The aircraft is about 80 meters long.
The two companies expect the project to be commercially completed by early 2020.
