IT Home News on August 7 is less than a day away from Samsung's Note 10 launch. Now Samsung has officially released Exynos 9825. The SoC uses Samsung's 7-nanometer EUV process, which improves transistor performance by 20-30% and reduces power consumption by 30-50%.
Exynos 9825 retains the three-cluster CPU architecture
First, look at the processor configuration. Exynos 9825 carries Samsung's two custom cores, two Cortex-A75 cores and four Cortex-A55 cores to maintain energy efficiency. Samsung has yet to announce the clock speed of the three-cluster CPU configuration, which is expected to be announced at the conference. In addition, the GPU is Mali-G76, the same as the GPU of Exynos 9820.
Samsung says Mali G 76 and Cortex A 75 are both faster clocks, making Exynos 9825 in.
NPU (Neural Processing Unit)
Samsung Exynos 9825 also integrates the design of NPU, neural processing unit to improve artificial intelligence photography and make use of augmented reality applications. NPU will be responsible for object recognition and the selection of ideal scenes, with the help of image signal processor (ISP), so that users can experience good color balance and better imaging results.
NPU will also intelligently identify smartphone users'usage patterns and support faster application preloading.
Exynos 9825 integrates 4G LTE advanced Pro modem with 8x carrier aggregation. It provides LTE download speed up to Cat. 20, up to 2Gbps, and up to 316Mbps upload speed. It can also be seamlessly connected with Samsung's Exynos modem 5100.
Video format and resolution support
Samsung said its latest Exynos 9825 multi-format codec(MFC)supports up to 8K video coding(30FPS), 4K encoding(150FPS)and 10-bit HEVC(H.265)codecs.
Exynos 9825 can support 4K UHD resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels and WQUXGA resolution of 3840 x 2400 pixels. Exynos 9825 also supports UFS 3.0 storage.
