According to foreign media onmsft,Microsoft edge is getting a new feature that prevents unwanted applications from being installed while browsing the web.The feature is currently available in the Microsoft Edge Insider build, but is currently "optionally added." Eric Lawrence of Edge's team explained on Twitter that the new feature is being used to complement existing Microsoft Defender Smartscreen technology that protects Edge users from malicious websites and downloads.
"Given that a utility application can also be bundled with cryptominers or spammers, the features shown here are further developed by selectively blocking downloads that contain potentially harmful code (but not malware technically)," Lawrence explained
If the user runs Edge's Canary, Dev, or Beta version on a PC or Mac, you can set it up
