In February 11th,ARM's official release of AI chip design for IoT devices

Cortex-M55, a chip design for the embedded market, is the first solution for the core architecture of a processor based on ArmHelium technology, Thanks to the new architecture, cortex-m55 has the ability to execute SIMD instructions. Thanks to this, its digital signal processing ability has been improved by as much as five times, while the performance of machine learning has been improved by as much as 15 times.

In addition, arm has released aNerve processing unit ethos-u55It is designed for the field of low power consumption and needs to be used with Cortex-M series microprocessors. Its processing unit is also scalable, with a minimum of 32 MAC engines and a maximum of 256 MAC engines.

ARM stresses, These chip technologies are very low power consumption, only one battery can work for several years, and only when there is a need for networking.

ARM says fewer web links help protect privacy, and many areas such as health care process data more locally, with little or no need to send the results back to remote servers.

The chip products with this design will be available in 2021.
