Williams is still there, the lawsuit says AppleHe started his new company, Nuvia, while working, and Apple has accused him of recruiting former colleagues.
According to the lawsuit, Williams started a new career with Apple's support by 2018. Apple pointed out that Williams told his colleagues that its new company would develop technology that Apple had no choice but to buy.
In response, Williams filed a plea in court.
But the court allowed the case to continue and rejected Williams' request. The judge said California law does not allow employees to use the employer's time and resources to plan and prepare to create a competitive business before dismissal.
Apple has launched its own anti competitive campaign against nuvia, according to court documents provided to Apple insider. He said Apple threatened that nuvia could not hire Apple engineers, but later wanted to poach John Bruno, nuvia's co-founder. In addition, he reiterated that he didn't start nuvia until he left apple, despite Apple's allegations that he started the company while employed by apple.
It is not clear whether the case will be tried. It is reported that a judge rejected Apple's punitive damages claim because they failed to prove how Williams' infidelity hurt the company.
