The upcoming Windows 10Version 2004(20H1) feature update will fix Windows Search Indexer problems that cause excessive disk and CPU occupancy. The latest preview of the Windows 10Build 19592 released today confirms that microsoft is making more detailed improvements to the Windows Search Indexer to perform file indexing faster by optimizing logic.
Indexers often scan computers for new files and applications. During the scan process, CPU and disk utilization may increase, and may also lead to 100% utilization on low-end hardware.
In the update of windows 10 build 19592, Microsoft adjusted windows search to pause the indexing program when you use the device. The company said it had improved its algorithm for automatically finding index file times.
Windows search will also limit the number of times it will file index content that does not affect search results. Although these improvements will come in the second quarter of this year, Microsoft has also introduced a new algorithm for windows search in the windows 10 2004 update. The new algorithm can detect overuse and other performance problems, and limit search index activity to prevent the system from slowing down.
