According to the latest research of strategy analytics, global smartphone shipments in the first quarter of 2020 were 275 million, down 17% year-on-year.This is the worst quarterly performance in smartphone industry history. In terms of global smartphone market share, Samsung maintained its first position with 21%, Huawei's second position remained stable at 18%, while Apple's third position rose slightly to 14%.
Strategy Analytics research director Woody Oh added :"AppleIPhoneThe year-on-year drop of 9% was better than expected, from 43.1 million in the first quarter of 2019 to 39.2 million in the first quarter of 2020. Apple's share of the global smartphone market rose to 14% from 13% last year. Apple's new iPhone SE model is cheaper and has greater influence in emerging markets such as India, which will help apple to further increase sales in the next few months. "
