Since the launch of the independent repairer program last autumn, more than 700 independent repairers in the United States have provided iPhone out of warranty services. More than 140 new maintenance companies have joined the program of varying sizes, including ubreakifix, located all over the United States. All companies in the program can receive free training from apple and get the same original parts, tools, service manuals and diagnostic procedures as Apple's authorized service provider (AASP) and Apple store stores. The independent maintenance provider program is also open to businesses in Europe and Canada. Following the successful launch in the United States, independent repair shops in 32 European countries and Canada can now apply to join Apple's independent repairer program. There is no cost to join the program and training for new businesses is free. Enterprises need to have an Apple Certified technician who can carry out maintenance before they can be qualified to join the program.
Apple also provides customers with more maintenance options through its growing global network, which consists of more than 5000 AASPS, helping millions of people provide in and out of warranty services for all Apple products. Last year, the company announced a major expansion of the network, adding repair points to every best buy store in the United States, which tripled the number of AASP repair points in the United States compared with three years ago.
