In most cases, the solar charging function of these watches can extend the battery life by several days, but in the case of insight solar, when the watch is in battery protected mode, the battery life can be extended indefinitely. Of course, watches also need plenty of sunlight, but as long as you plan to spend a lot of time outdoors, it sounds like you can get unlimited battery life as long as you don't mind the reduced functionality of the battery protection mode. If you want to get more features at the expense of battery life, you can pop insight solar into adventure mode and take advantage of enhanced GPS capabilities while gaining more than two months of battery life. Finally, in the smart watch mode, Garmin said that as long as the instinct solar series has enough sunlight, it can be used indoors for 24 days and outdoors for 50 days. As mentioned above, insight solar offers surf and tactical versions. In the surf version, you'll find tidal data and surf activity tracking, with a water depth of 100 meters. Tactical will provide night vision lens compatibility and stealth mode.

Fenix 6S Pro solar and Fenix 6 Pro solar. Fenix series solar versions will provide most of the same feature set as non solar versions, so users can expect music streaming, activity tracking, on-board mapping and advanced sleep monitoring. For these solar models, however, Garmin added three new active profiles. Surfing, which is more or less the same as the profile on the surf version of insigct solar; mountain biking, which measures gravel and flow to better understand the difficulty of trails; and indoor climbing, which tracks such things as climbing time and total vertical climbing distance. In Fenix 6S Pro solar, users can expect about 9 days of battery life indoors and 10.5 days of outdoor battery life if there is sufficient sunshine. Fenix 6 Pro solar is better than its little brother in this respect, because it can be used indoors for 14 days and in sunny conditions for 16 days.

tactix Delta solar version. Like previous tactix watches, the tactix Delta solar version is made according to MIL-STD-810 standards, so this watch may be the best of these. It is also equipped with a stealth mode that can cut off wireless connections and disable location sharing. If that's not enough, it's also equipped with an anti-virus switch that can wipe all the user memory on the watch. tactix Delta solar version seems to have a much better battery life than the fenix 6Pro series, which can last up to 21 days indoors and up to 24 days when it has enough sunlight outside. Garmin says these 21 and 24 days of battery life are needed
