Foreign media reported,The digital banking service and Apple Pay European partner Boon announced Monday local time that the service would be closed in October 2020. Boon has been a Apple Pay partner since 2016, offering contactless payment options and virtual credit cards in some european countries. At the Twitter, the company announced that it would stop providing services from October 3,2020.
Boon's announcement comes after its parent company wirecard filed for bankruptcy in a series of financial scandals, Reuters reported.
Boon suggests that users should spend all their cash before October 3. Although users can request withdrawals after the service is shut down, boon will charge users with existing credit cards a monthly fee. In addition, it also turns off the automatic recharge function.
