Samsung unveiled a new smart watch at today's launch. The galaxy watch 3 aims to span fitness and fashion, as well as some popular features from old-fashioned wearable devices, as well as the much anticipated sleep and ECG tracking.Released simultaneously with the galaxy note 20, the galaxy watch 3 has a circular display surrounded by a physically rotatable bezel for quick scrolling through applications and information.

Samsung uses stainless steel or titanium alloy on the case, and excavates some professional technology of famous watchmaker IWC in the design process. Compared with the old Galaxy watch, the new Galaxy watch is 14% thinner, 8% smaller and 15% lighter. However, because of the thinner borders, the 41mm and 45mm versions are crammed into larger displays: 1.2 inches and 1.4 inches, respectively. Either way, they are IP68 waterproof, comply with mil-std-810g, and are rated 5atm in water.

As before, health tracking is an important part of the galaxy watch 3. There are 40 types of motion supported, 7 of which can be automatically detected so that the smart watch will automatically start tracking. In addition, different types of exercise can be accessed through voice commands.

However, it should be noted that unless the user is in Korea, the ECG and blood pressure tracking functions of Galaxy watch 3 will not be available after unpacking. Samsung has built-in electrodes that, as we've seen on the apple watch, can read whether your heart rate is normal or shows signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib). After initial calibration with a complete blood pressure cuff, blood pressure readings can also be obtained from the watch. Of course, as a function of medical devices, they will not be used in the United States by default until Samsung is approved by the FDA.

Sleep tracking is the biggest highlight of this time. Wearing this watch, you can now subdivide the rest time into deep sleep, sleep cycle, and the number of times you wake up in different cycles and the total sleep time. It will rate the consistency of your sleep time, quality and wake-up time. Samsung said it should be more accurate than before because previous sleep algorithms focused on REM tracking.

The galaxy watch 3 is equipped with Samsung's own exynos 9110 dual core 1.15ghz processor, 1GB memory and 8GB storage. The running system is tizen OS 5.5. The 41mm watch has a built-in 247mah battery, while the 45mm watch has 340mah battery. Both can be charged wirelessly - including from the powershare features of Samsung phones such as the new Galaxy note 20 - for about two days at a time.

The galaxy watch 3 is available from August 6. The 41mm Bluetooth version will cost $399.99, and the 45mm version will cost $429.99; if you want to build in LTE communication module, the price of 41mm will be $449.99, and the price of 45mm will be $479.99. The 41mm version will offer mysterious bronze and mysterious silver, while the 45mm smart watch will bring mysterious silver and mysterious black made of titanium alloy.

In terms of watch strap, there will be a strap of the same color in the packing box, while the mysterious black model made of titanium metal will have a metal strap. Samsung will also launch a series of official replacement watchbands, but since the galaxy watch 3 uses regular clasps - 20 mm for 41 mm watches and 22 mm for 45 mm versions - you can use almost all third-party straps.
