Apple will launch four new OLED iPhones in the coming months, with sizes of 5.4, 6.1 and 6.7 inches.Rumor has it that the 6.7-inch iPhone and a 6.1-inch model will be a high-end device with a three lens camera, while the 5.4-inch device and another 6.1-inch model will be more affordable, low-end iPhones with dual lens cameras.
DIGITIMES has previously said that two 6.1-inch iPhone 12 models may be launched in October, followed by 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch models. In a new report released today, the Taiwan industry journal reiterated this statement, based on the delivery time of printed circuit boards for the base plate of the device.
According to the source, the new iPhone series may come in two stages. The first stage will be two 6.1-inch models, and the second stage will be 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch devices. They also pointed out that the SLP motherboard of the 6.1-inch model will be shipped in July, while the 6.7-inch and 5.4-inch models will be shipped in the second half of August.
Bloomberg also reported that apple will stagger the launch of iPhone by 2020. However, it expects Apple to start with a more affordable 5.4 and 6.1-inch device, compared a more expensive 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch device
Meanwhile, leaker Jon Prother said the iPhone 12 models will be launched during the week of October 12, and the lower-cost iPhone 12 models are expected to begin booking shortly after the event. iPhone 12Pro models won't be available until november, mr prother said.
Regardless of the order in which Apple launches the iPhone 12 product line, an official launch of these devices may be just around the corner.
