Tencent responded to the latest announcement of the US Secretary of Commerce's executive order on wechat's use in the United States. The following is the full text of the response:As an application serving users all over the world, wechat has always complied with local laws and regulations, and its data policies and procedures conform to the world's most stringent privacy standards.
In order to protect the basic communication rights and interests of American users, we have conducted many rounds of communication with the United States Government during this period to seek appropriate solutions. Unfortunately, no consensus has yet been reached.
We will continue to communicate with the U.S. government for a long-term solution.
