DxOMark just released a video review of Apple's iPhone 12,The total score is 122 points, which is only 13th on the current list, equivalent to glory V30 pro, slightly higher than Huawei mate 30 Pro 4G.By contrast, the iPhone 12 Pro Max 130 is fourth and the iPhone 12 Pro 128 is fifth.
In terms of decomposition,IPhone 12 ranked 10th with 132 for photo taking, 112 for video and 4 for iPhone 12 pro. Zoom only ranked 19 with 41 points, which was a serious drag.
DxOMark says the basic attributes of the iPhone 12 are pretty good: the exposure is roughly accurate, but the dynamic range is not wide enough. The color is pleasant and roughly accurate, but occasionally there is color deviation. Auto focus is a great advantage. It can lock the focus quickly and accurately under any lighting conditions. Photos taken at high to moderate light levels are rich in detail.
The disadvantage is that the noise is more than expected. The simulation of the scene in portrait mode is not very satisfactory, and there is no special telescope module, which does hinder the performance of long-range zoom.
Apple iPhone 12 can shoot pleasant and accurate colors and rich details in plenty of light.
The video tests performed well because the main camera hardware seemed to be the same as the iPhone 12 pro. The accurate and wide dynamic range of exposure is attributed to the Dolby horizon HDR. When shooting outdoors, the color is occasionally cold, but the color is still pleasing to the eye. Autofocus is fast and accurate, and can work normally even in scenes with frequent movements. Details are rich in high light, but less in interior and low light. Noise is the weakest link and can be seen even in high light. Vibration and motion can be effectively offset by anti chattering.
All in all, the iPhone 12 has done quite well in photo testing, and its video capabilities are impressive, especially for users who can take full advantage of its Dolby horizon HDR feature.
If you only consider taking photos, there are competing products that can provide similar or better drawing quality, and sometimes the price is lower. However, users who are attracted by Apple's other value propositions or love IOS may think the iPhone 12 is very good.
If zoom and portrait mode are not the priority features, the iPhone 12 has almost all the advantages of the iPhone 12 pro, and the price is more affordable.
