Amd launched the first generation epyc (code name Naples) and the second generation epyc (code name Rome) in 2017 and 2019 respectively, with the maximum number of cores being 14nm 32 core Zen and 7Nm 64 core zen2,The third generation epyc will be upgraded to 7Nm zen3, with a maximum of 64 cores, 128 threads, 128 pieces of PCI 4.0 and 8-channel DDR4 memory.


On the third-generation epyc processor, thanks to the 19% increase in the performance of zen3's IPC, the performance of epyc processor, which was already dominant, has reached a new high,Amd says it will be the world's most powerful x86 server processor in terms of performance per core and throughput.

In addition, the third-generation epyc also strengthens important cloud services, which can bring the best business value to customers (AMD does not seem to emphasize cost performance), but also has better security.


The results show that the performance of 32 core third-generation epyc is 68% higher than that of the number of cores.
