The theoretical premise proposed by komeso and arsenho is that reconnecting the magnetic field will make the plasma particles accelerate in two different directions. Some plasma flows are pushed to the spin direction of the black hole, while others are pushed to the spin direction, and can escape the gravitational binding of the black hole. If the plasma swallowed by the black hole has negative energy, it will release energy accordingly.
In the inner energy layer, magnetic reconnection is very rare, which can lead to the acceleration of plasma particles to the speed of light. The coauthor of the research report, arsenho, explains that the high relative velocity between the trapped and escaped plasma streams is the reason for extracting a lot of energy from black holes.
