On January 27, Tongxin software announced that it had reached cooperation with Alibaba cloud and other companies to build openanolis community, and launched Anolis OS 8 system in the second quarter. Alibaba cloud mentioned that in the past, there was a lack of native Linux operating system upstream community in China, so we could only obtain code from Fedora, openSUSE, Debian and other overseas sites.

Imminent development of global open source for more than 20 years, especially in the domestic information innovation needs change rapidly, it is imminent to establish a local open source operating system platform.

Openanolis community has a technical committee and an operation Committee, which is responsible for the community's distribution and maintenance of the open source distribution of Anolis OS, supports multi computing architecture, provides stable, high-performance, safe, reliable and open source operating system, and builds an open source, neutral and open upstream distribution community.

The short-term goal of the community is to develop Anolis OS 8 as an alternative version of CentOS, and rebuild a distribution compatible with international mainstream Linux manufacturers.

Anolis OS 8 is scheduled to be released in the second quarter of 2021, which is an open source, neutral and open community release version, supports international and domestic mainstream chip architectures, and is fully compatible with CentOS. However, CentOS 8 will be finished after its development by the end of 2021, and there will be no maintenance or security repair.

In addition, Tongxin software will issue a commercial version based on the community version.
