Just now, Huawei officially announced that Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business and managing director of Huawei, will concurrently serve as the president of Huawei's cloud and computing BG.
Yu Chengdong is still the CEO of Huawei's consumer business and the president of Huawei cloud and computing BG. Hou Jinlong, the former senior vice president and President of Huawei cloud and computing BG, plans to appoint the chairman of digital energy.
Huawei's announcement is as follows:
BG, business group, refers to a business group of Huawei. So far, Huawei has four BGS: operator BG, enterprise BG, consumer BG, cloud and computing BG, and one Bu: intelligent vehicle solution bu (which is the first level department with BG).
Huawei cloud and computing BG
In 2017, Huawei integrated IT product line, 2012 laboratory, software product line, global public cloud business department, process it and other teams with public cloud capability, and formally established Huawei cloud.
Responsible for the competitiveness and commercial success of Huawei's cloud and computing industry, and responsible for R & D, marketing, ecology, technology sales, consulting and integration enabling services of the cloud and computing industry. Build ecology around Kunpeng, shengteng and Huawei cloud, create black land, and become the base of digital world.
It is understood that in terms of business model, Huawei cloud and computing execution only does the underlying technology and infrastructure, not the application, but supports the migration and adaptation of mainstream applications and software for free.
In terms of specific strategies, it focuses on the innovation of computing architecture and Huawei cloud services, uses its own hardware capabilities to provide external motherboard, SSD, network card, raid card, Atlas module and board card, and gives priority to supporting partners to develop computing products such as server and PC. At the same time, we use Huawei's open source operating system, database and AI computing framework to help partners develop their own brand products, and provide developers with a full scene development framework covering end, edge and cloud.
Next business growth point
In recent years, Huawei's cloud and computing business has grown rapidly, especially after upgrading to the fourth largest BG in 2020.
According to IDC survey in 2020, Huawei servers accounted for 4.9% of the global market share in the third quarter, ranking fifth with a revenue of 7.2 billion yuan; storage business ranked fourth with a market share of 9.4% and a revenue of 4.1 billion yuan. Meanwhile, as of May 2020, Huawei oceanstor storage has entered more than 150 countries around the world, serving more than 12000 customers.
In addition, Huawei public cloud's domestic market share in the first quarter of 2020 was 8.6%, ranking third with a revenue of 1.85 billion yuan.
However, Huawei is obviously not satisfied with its current position in the industry.
