Starting today, hundreds of Apple stores in more than 10 countries and regions are now offering sign language pre scheduling services. The service is provided to customers free of charge by appointment. Users can visit the nearest Apple store to make an appointment for the next time to provide sign language translation service. After that, Apple will follow up and make an appointment.
At present, sign language translation services have been available in Apple stores in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium and Austria. Nowadays, creative conferences held in Apple's stores and online are often supported by sign language translation. Apple has installed auxiliary listening system and video wall in all stores for live activities.
Apple has long been a leader in barrier free services in the retail industry, offering ASL translations at the Carnegie Library flagship store in Washington in 2019. The company has a partnership with Gallaudet, a university that provides education for the deaf community. The Carnegie Library employs more than 30 deaf and hard of hearing community members.
