NVIDIA said it was taking steps to ensure that its geforce RTX 3060 graphics card eventually fell into gamers' hands. In a blog post last week, the company said the RTX 3060 would be able to detect all aspects of Ethereum's cryptocurrency mining algorithm and limit its hash rate to about 50%. This will reduce the efficiency of GPU in mining cryptocurrency.

GPU is very important for PC games, video editing and other graphics intensive activities. With the price of cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin and Ethereum reaching new highs, it is increasingly difficult to find the spot in the market. Cryptocurrency mining requires the use of powerful computers, usually equipped with multiple GPUs.

But NVIDIA has not left cryptocurrency fans in the cold. The company said it would launch a new CMP product, the cryptocurrency mining processor line. NVIDIA said that CMP products will be optimized for mining and improve power efficiency and heat dissipation, but will not do graphics processing. They don't meet the specifications required by geforce GPUs, so they don't affect the usability of geforce GPUs for gamers.

NVIDIA launched the entry-level RTX 3060 on CES 2021 in January. The RTX 3060 is designed to attract users who are still using the older generation GPU. NVIDIA said that its performance is 10 times that of the 2016 GTX 1060 and twice that of the 2018 2060. RTX 3060 graphics card launched on Thursday, starting at $329, but it has been out of stock, it is difficult to find the spot.
